Vietnamese and Australian Adoption Archives
1970-1980s
A digital library of adoption documents concerning Vietnamese-Australian adoptees.
This is an adoptee led archiving project. Intercountry adoptees need access to these official documents including Vietnamese government records and baby pictures that are not otherwise digitised, searchable, nor made publicly accessible.

The archivist:
Sue Bylund
Sue is the custodian and trustee of the physical archive available here. She has been given permission by the original owners to preserve, document, and digitise these records in order that adoptees might use them as a part of search and reunion journeys.
Sue is a Melbourne-based Vietnamese adoptee. She has been active in state, national, and international adoption advocacy since 1998, including membership in the National Intercountry Adoption Advisory Group (NICAAG), the Western Australian Adoption Sector Forum, Adoption Support for Families and Children (ASFC), the Vietnamese Adoptee Network (VAN), co-founding the Intercountry Adoptee Community (IAC), was an Advisory Committee member for International Social Services (ISS) Australia, and co-founded Vietnam Family Search.
